CHINANAGOLAND

Chinanagoland occupies a former textile factory in Les Planes d’Hostoles, Catalonia, now being transformed into an arts and cultural center.

I visited the factory shortly after it had been acquired, before any of the work had begun. Parts of the building had been damaged by fire, and after days of rain, water was coming through the roof and collecting across the floors. I spent the day in the enormous industrial spaces, documenting the factory as I found it.

Right next to the factory is Gorg de les Bruixes, or Cascada de la Bruja, a gorgeous waterfall with an eerie name. The river once provided power for the factory,. After hours inside the cavernous industrial spaces, the waterfall offered a visual respite.
